Monument Toastmasters is a non-profit club located in Silver Spring, MD., with membership open to the community.   Our goal is help people from all walks of life improve their communication and leadership skills.   It is one of more than 200 clubs in District 36 serving parts of Maryland and Washington, D.C., and is a part of Toastmasters International, a non-profit organization with World Headquarters located in Rancho Santa Margarita, California.

District 36 is one of 82 Toastmasters Districts World-wide. District 36 has approximately 200 Toastmasters Clubs with over 4,000 members. Our borders include the Northeast and Northwest quadrants of Washington D.C., all of Montgomery County, Maryland, and part of Prince George’s County, Maryland north of a line extended from the north-south dividing line of Washington D.C., eastward along East Capitol Street and Central Avenue to the county’s eastern border.

Our club has a diverse group of members from students to young professionals, midlife career professionals and retirees.   Communication skill levels range from polished speakers to beginners and we learn from each other in a supportive atmosphere.  The typical meeting begins with a short business meeting followed by a session in which all members and guests are given a chance to participate in impromptu speaking.  We will then listen to 2 or 3 prepared speeches given by club members on topics of their own choosing.  This is a very interesting part of the meeting where you sit back, relax and listen to topics such as entrepreneurship, genealogy, success through goal-setting and the occasional personal story that just has to be shared with friends.  Feedback in the form evaluations is provided to speakers and other participants so that everyone can learn and gain tips on how to improve their public speaking and leadership skills.

If you are interested in joining MONUMENT Toastmasters, we encourage you to come to one of our meetings or just simply send an email to gacsagittarius@yahoo.com,  There is no registration required to come to one of our meetings.

We look forward to hearing from you!
